Philip Besirof
Board Member
Philip joined the Under One Roof Board of Directors
in 2008. Philip is a partner with the law firm of
Morrison & Foerster in its San Francisco office. He
maintains a complex civil litigation practice,
principally in the areas of securities class
actions, intellectual property disputes, financial
services, and business disputes. Philip also has a
significant pro bono practice. He has successfully
represented individuals and non-profit entities,
including Under One Roof’s AIDS Service
Organizations, in a variety of cases involving
trademark infringement and political asylum based on
sexual orientation. Philip received his bachelor’s
degree from the University of California, San Diego
and his juris doctor from the University of
California, Hastings College of the Law.

Gregg E. Gerst
Chairman, Board of Directors
Gregg was elected to the Under One Roof Board of
Directors in March of 2008 and became Board Chair
six months later. Born and raised in the Bay Area
Gregg comes to the Board with nearly ten years
experience as Director of Worldwide Financial
Services at Apple, Inc., and an additional eleven
years of experience with Sun Microsystems, Inc.
where he managed North American Lease Programs.
Gregg also spent over ten years in retail working
for Liberty House, Montgomery Ward, Sears and Hink's
department stores. Gregg holds a B.A. in Political
Science from UC Berkeley and did his MBA work at San
Francisco State University.

Anton Gill
Treasurer
Anton was elected to the Under One Roof Board of
Directors in October of 2008. Originally from
Trinidad, he has lived in the Bay Area since 1999
and comes to the Board with nearly a year of
experience as Controller at Axiom, a professional
legal services firm, and over eight years of
experience with Ernst & Young LLP where he
specialized as an auditor in the high-tech and
biopharma industries. Anton is a Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) and holds a B.Sc in Accounting and
Finance from the University of Leeds, England as
well as an=2 0MBA and MSc in Accounting from Florida
International University. |

Brian Hooper
Board Member
Brian joined UOR in June of 2007 and currently
serves as Merchandising Committee Chair. Brian's
passion for serving the community was ignited over
20 years ago first working with DIFFA on their
annual fundraiser and has since participated and
sponsored fundraising for children's hospitals,
chronic illness, to organizations who help the less
fortunate. Brian currently lives in NYC, is from the
Washington DC metro area and lived most of his adult
life in SF. Brian received his B.F.A. from Virginia
Commonwealth University. Brian has over 14 years of
diverse retail experience ranging from managing an
individual store to managing inventory for 1000
stores working in positions with Gap, Inc and Ann
Taylor. |

Marcie Low
Board Member
Marcie joined the Under One Roof Board of Directors
in January of 2007. She is currently the Chair of
the Governance Committee which acts primarily as the
HR advisory function to the Board. It also helps
recruit potential new members for the Board and
works to ensure that the Board functions as a team.
Marcie is a Bay Area native, born and raised in
Berkeley. She went to Berkeley High School and UC
Davis where she graduated with a BS in Managerial
Economics. Marcie has over 16 years of experience
working in Human Resources in the high tech
industry. She currently serves as COO at Minor
Ventures where she also provides HR and operational
support services for technology start-ups in their
portfolio. |

Jerry
Mitchell
Secretary
Jerry was elected to the Board in fall of 2004. Jerry
Mitchell, a Manager within the Sales Strategy and
Communications team at American Express, is responsible for
assisting the American Express Regional and National Sales
Teams to develop and deliver compelling sales materials to
existing and prospective business travel clients. Prior to
joining Corporate Services, Jerry worked as a Marketing
Project Manager at American Express Financial Advisors in
Minneapolis, Minnesota. After working as a temporary
employee for 7 months, Jerry joined American Express as a
permanent employee in June of 1987, issuing life insurance
policies at AMEX Life Assurance Company in San Rafael,
California. After a few years in various roles, Jerry joined
a small team of employees to develop and market the
Privileged Assets direct mail annuity offering, which
blossomed over 5 years into a product with more than 170,000
customers and assets under management in excess of $1
billion. Jerry has been recognized for numerous awards at
AMEX during his tenure at the company. In his spare time,
Jerry enjoys writing, camping in his RV and is an active
volunteer at Under One Roof – a non-profit retail store in
San Francisco that raises unrestricted funding for 38
different AIDS Service Organizations in the San Francisco
Bay Area. |

Patrick Rylee
Board Member
Mr. Rylee has been involved in the Staffing Industry
for over 20 years, including receivables financing,
designing and consulting on database products and
establishing successful divisions for multimillion
dollar staffing companies. His entrepreneurial
spirit combined all of these skills to establish the
Staffing Industry’s first Internet based recruitment
and placement service, which he eventually took
public. He brings his knowledge as a Staffing
Industry consultant and combines it with his
“business owner” background, this enhances
his
ability to truly understand the big picture of Under
One Roof. Mr. Rylee is currently building a new
social networking service for specific vertical
markets. |

Dana Van Gorder
Board Member
Dana is the Executive Director of Project
Inform, a national non-profit agency
assisting in the development of treatments
for HIV infection, providing treatment
information to HIV-positive individuals,
engaging in advocacy to meet the health care
needs of low-income HIV-positive people, and
advocating for bio-medical prevention
strategies. Prior to this position, Dana was
the Director of State & Local Policy for the
San Francisco AIDS Foundation. In that
role, he developed and monitored legislation
and advocated for funding to assure the
highest possible response to the epidemic in
California and Sacramento. Dana served as
the Coordinator of Lesbian & Gay Health
Services for the San Francisco Department of
Public Health. He is a former legislative
aide to two members of the San Francisco
Board of Supervisors - Harry Britt and
Carole Migden. He has served as a
consultant to a number of political
campaigns, including California’s statewide
AIDS initiative campaigns, and has served as
a Community Relations Director for two
International AIDS Conferences. Dana is a
also a founder of the San Francisco Lesbian
Gay Bisexual Transgender Community Center
Project.
